My name is Eidom and I’m a third-year student at Humber College, in the International Development program. In just a few weeks I will be traveling to Lilongwe, Malawi for my role as a Youth Economic and Entrepreneurship Officer. In this role, I will be working with a partner organization called Farm Radio Trust, to develop radio programs and interventions for youth in the agriculture sector.
This will be my first time working abroad, so I am feeling many mixed emotions! This opportunity is going to be a great learning experience for me as it will allow me to apply my knowledge in the field, and expose me to a different culture which will enhance my personal growth. I am hoping to connect with many people, get a good understanding of the local culture, and explore the beautiful sites of Malawi; a country nicknamed “The Warm Heart of Africa”.
This summer will be a memorable one and I can’t wait to begin my 3-month adventure. Stay tuned!
