Hello, my name is Erika Barratt and I am a 4th year student in the Bachelor of International Development program at Humber College. I have an internal drive to aid those who’s ability to cope is substandard. I’m in the beginning stages of discovering my true passions and I hope by completing this internship I will gain a better understanding of what fields interest me the most. I have been accepted for the Sector Research and Analysis Officer position in support of the Uniterra program in Sri Lanka this summer! It will be a 2 month position expected to take place through July and August. While in Sri Lanka I will be conducting primary and secondary research in the following sectors; Tea, Garments & Tourism. While I am there I will be researching if these sectors are valid, who are the key actors and how to effectively grow the industries. I’m excited to put my three years of schooling to the test and gain some hands on experience. I can’t wait to travel again and do something with meaning.
