Malawi: Are you ready?

My name is Jean Pierre Niyitanga, and I just finished my first year of Master of Journalism at Carleton University. With a background in journalism, I have interest in storytelling, and the roles of communications and information technologies in transforming people’s lives.

Jean Pierre NiyitangaThis summer I will be in Malawi working with Uniterra as a communications intern. This internship will be a great opportunity to apply my writing and storytelling skills. I hope to use my skills to highlight the impact of Unittera’s work in Malawi and in the long term document amazing initiatives from particular societies that can inspire people in other parts of the worldventure

I expect this adventure to be enjoyable and a knowledge exchange with the wonderful Unittera family I have heard many good things about. I will kick off with a regional meeting bringing together Unittera people from Anglophone Africa countries.

As this will be my first time in the southern part of Africa, it is an exciting opportunity for me to explore the culture of Malawian people and how they cope with challenges of everyday life. I can’t wait!
