Looking forward to working on the PRET Project in Sri Lanka!

September 8, 2013

Hello, thanks for taking a look at my blog post!

My name is Kevin McLeod, and for the next six months I have the pleasure of being a Communications and Documentation Assistant with the PRET Project in Sri Lanka.  I am originally from Peterborough, Ontario but have been living in Montreal for several years, which is where I obtained an attestation of collegial studies from Cégep Marie-Victorin in Community Development and Intercultural Relations as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Concordia University. I then moved to Vancouver to complete a Master’s degree in Political Science.  Now that I have finished my studies, I wanted to apply to this project so that I can have the chance to contextualize my education and passion for community and international development in a meaningful way. The substantial project objectives of building individual capacity for youth and women as well as increasing the chances for gainful employment for Sri Lankans are worthwhile as they strengthen the society as a whole.  Accordingly, taking part in this project will give me the chance to contribute in a meaningful way as well as give me the great opportunity to learn more about Sri Lankan society, cultures, and people.  I look forward to meeting everyone and I can’t wait to be part of this project!

Thank you for reading and until next time,

Kevin McLeod
