The Ghana Sagas: Part I Pre-Departure

March 22, 2016

Hey I’m Rasa, and I’m a fourth year International Development specialist at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. I crave adventure and the opportunity to visit new places or delve into other cultures, whether it’s travelling to foreign countries or trying that new Mexican-Korean fusion restaurant around the corner, I’m always up to trying something new.

I was recently accepted for the position of Communications and Business Support Officer with TRIAS Ghana in Bolgatanga, and I’ll be helping create effective business plans for local farmers and entrepreneurs partnered with TRIAS Ghana, as well capturing success stories of local partners.

I’m excited to be thrown into a world so different from my own, I’ve always wanted to take my passion for development and the empowerment of marginalized communities abroad, and now I’m actually doing it! I hope this internship will be the first of many development related placements abroad.

I really can’t wait to see what Bolgatanga has in store for me, but first I have to finish some unfinished business here in Canada… (Aka exams and term papers)
